Salone Internazionale del Mobile The Salone del Mobile is the global benchmark for the Home Furnishing Sector. An invaluable tool for the industry as well as an ongoing, quite extraordinary promotional vehicle. The Salone made its first appearance in 1961, designed to promote Italian furniture and furnishing accessories on the export market, and it has continued to do so impeccably, ensuring that the quality of Italian furniture is known to all four corners of the earth, and continues so to do, with half of all its visitors coming from around the world.
After the success of the 2013 edition – attended by 285,698 trade operators, 193,024 of whom from foreign Countries; over 38,000 members of the general public and 6,578 communication operators – the Salone Internazionale del Mobile is reconfirmed as the acknowledged exclusive showcase for the latest in furnishing, with a vast range of top quality products in every conceivable style.
Its spatial nudity, serenity of complexion and abundance of light correspond with the spirit of the desert and the sea that is visible in the distance. The premises of the house hold a dynamic dialog between light and shadow, open and void spaces and interesting curves and angles. The materials and textures used to inhabit the space are austere, smooth and natural so not to disturb the continuity of the surfaces.
The character of the house is determined from lots of shady corners and niches, which offer sanctuary from inclemency of the desert, cleverly accompanied by abundance of natural light and vast open views. The furnishing and the cladding of walls and floors is decided with natural materials and textures in soft earthly color shade that range from white and soft gray to beige and strong brawn and give the house almost philosophical serenity and irreplaceable austere elegance.
