Part optical illusion, the Izabelin house built by REFORM Architekts just outside the Polish capital of Warsaw seamlessly blends into its surroundings thanks to reflective paneling along the home’s base. Integrated into a woodland setting, the idea to sustain the livelihood of the vegetation around the home became the inspiration to decorate it with mirrors which reflect the environment around it. This fabrication gives the conception that the house is floating, with no foundation to sit upon. Wood paneling on the exterior fortifies this notion as it harmonizes with the canopy of trees. The home is comprised of two horizontally aligned levels, with the one visible to the naked eye resting on top.
